Face Masks to Cleanse and Moisturise

Face masks are a skincare step that I’ve only recently added into my routine. But I’ve no idea why it’s taken me so long to discover the beauty behind their creamy goodness. With so many to choose from on the beauty shelves there is something for everyone. For every skin type and skin problem you will find a face mask that lights up your world! Too much?! From an intense treatment, quick fix for when time is tight or an over night luxury pamper. Face masks give you that sense of the spa right at home.

The product that took my face mask virginity was from L’Oreal and their Pure Clay range. The Pure Clay Detox Mask is a mix of 3 pure clays and charcoal. Clay masks are one of the most common forms of face masks giving the skin a deep cleanse. They de-congest the skin so great for removing blackheads. Charcoal is an ingredient that has stormed onto the beauty scene and seems to be everywhere at the moment. It is easy to see why especially in a face mask as charcoal draws out bacteria and can absorb thousands times its own weight. Most beauty products use ‘activated charcoal’ which is basically carbon that is treated so it can absorb even more.

What I love about the L’Oreal face mask is that I can see instant results. It is a really creamy and cooling product to smooth over the skin which smells good too. It smells clean! Anyone else know what I mean by that or is it just me?! Once applied leave it on for 8 minutes until it hardens and then wash off with a face cloth. I like to warm the face cloth and hold it on my face to almost melt the mask off. It feels really good! My skin feels smooth, clear and I’ve noticed a reduction in breakouts. Plus this product is such amazing value for money!

After using the detox mask as it draws out a lot from the skin I feel I need to put some moisture back. So I was on the hunt for a luxurious moisturising face mask and discovered the Vitamin E Sink In Moisture Sleeping Mask from The Body Shop. Moisturising face masks add oil back into the skin so great for any dry skin patches. Vitamin E is a hydrating ingredient and helps the skin to retain water keeping it looking plump and healthy.

This Body Shop mask is a gel cream that you wear overnight. It is highly nourishing and leaves my skin super soft in the morning. The first time I used the mask it was a weird sensation putting a layer on my skin and leaving it without rubbing it in completely. But the effects are lovely. My skin is smooth, rosy and looks healthy. I used to suffer with dry patches especially around my nose but since using this mask the dry patches are no more!

So it’s safe to say I am now a face mask addict! Give these masks a go and let me know what you think of them. Join me on Wednesday for a post about herbal teas, a drink for every occasion.

Bye, x
